Generous donors have been busy making magic happen with the Valle Catholic Schools Foundation CARE Program! Recently, a donor who wished to remain anonymous requested the opportunity to sponsor Valle Catholic Schools First Grade Teacher, Amy Wood’s, CARE request. Mrs. Wood requested a new Rand McNally U.S. and Political World Map.

The purpose of the request was to provide young learners a more comprehensive and immersive experience when learning about nonfiction and religious topics in the classroom. With the assistance of this map as a visual aid, it can now provide students a visual opportunity to relate to and understand geographical locations where events occurred, spatial awareness of the event locations in relation to where students currently live, climates, cultures, and the history of the geographical landscapes of various time periods. The use of the map not only provides a greater depth of topic discussion but also provides students the ability to further engage in discussion to learn more about the world around them.

Amy Wood was thrilled to learn that her classroom request had been sponsored saying, “We are so THANKFUL to Valle Catholic Schools Foundation for helping us find a sponsor to purchase our new classroom maps. We are forever grateful to you and all the supporters of Valle Catholic Schools.” The first-grade students were filled with excitement and have been taking every opportunity to ask more questions and learn about the United States and the world every chance they get. Keep up the good work, little Warriors!

We would like to sincerely thank our generous donor for partnering with us and making a lasting impact on the students and classroom at Valle Catholic Schools.
