On December 3, 2025, the Valle Catholic Schools Foundation hosted a Breakfast of Thanksgiving to honor the late Mary Margaret Oberle Bowyer, whose final act of generosity, a significant donation of her estate, will transform the lives of Valle students for generations.
A Life Built on Faith and True Blue Pride
Mary wasn’t just a donor; she carried the heartbeat of the Valle family throughout her life. A graduate of the Class of 1949, she cheered for the Warriors as a varsity cheerleader and remained a lifelong football booster.
Her successful career as an administrative secretary, serving from the British Consulate to local high schools, was something she credited entirely to her Valle Schools education.
Connecting the Past to the Future
In a touching tribute, the event highlighted Mary’s deep connection to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Not only did they teach her at Valle, but she spent her life as an Associate (CSJA), partnering with the Sisters to carry out the mission of Jesus through prayer and service.

During the ceremony, Father Andrew Burkemper introduced the newly established giving wall, which will stand proudly in the school lobby. A commemorative plaque was presented to Mary’s family, marking the first of many names to be honored for their extraordinary commitment to Catholic education.
